Miles for Moffitt Race

The past 24 hours have been less than glamorous. I came down with a bad stomach bug yesterday afternoon and it left me horizontal on the couch for 12 hours straight . Luckily I was able to sleep it off, and made it to USF this morning to run in the Miles for Moffitt 5K. The race is in its 8th consecutive year, and raised $300,000 for cancer research this weekend alone! My dad is a cancer survivor so I always love running this race with him!

While I did PR at 26:03, I was a little bummed with myself because I slowed down a couple of times when I know I didn’t need to. I guess my next race is when I’ll break under 26 minutes! None of us ran our best races today, but Derek did manage to come in top 5 of his age group with around a 22 minute 5K. Dad came in top 3 but wasn’t thrilled, as that speed demon is used to 1st!

I have plans to see The Great Gatsby tonight with some friends from my sorority, and I can’t wait! I hope you all have a great weekend!
