Half-Way Healthy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Is it even possible to make a truly healthy cookie? Yeah of course it is, but I’m only going half way. This recipe uses apple sauce instead of butter,  egg whites instead of eggs, and cuts out half the sugar with natural sweetener. But there’s no way I’m eliminating chocolate!!!!! So here’s my recipe for Half-Way Healthy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies:

Ingredients

1 cup quick oats

3/4 cup flour

1/2 cup natural apple sauce

1 egg white

1 cup chocolate chips

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup brown sugar

12 packets Truvia

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°.

Pour oats, flour, brown sugar, and Truvia (or any zero calorie natural sweetener) to a large mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, beat egg white and vanilla until incorporated. Add egg, apple sauce and chocolate chips to the flour and oats and beat until totally incorporated. Spoon onto a prepared baking sheet (sprayed with cooking spray or covered in parchment paper for easy clean-up), and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden.
