I completely forgot to share with you all a very tasty and easy Blackened Tilapia dish I made for my family earlier this week, so I’ll be getting to that later in the post! Yesterday started with a cold bowl of overnight oats. It’s so hot out these days, and sometimes I just can’t stomach the idea of a steaming bowl of oatmeal. Overnight oats is a great alternative for a filling morning meal!
And I finished my time in the gym with 20 minutes of total body weight exercises.

I took this pic in the bathroom and had to be super quick in case someone walked in and thought I was a narcissistic freak!
Now on the what I promised you…. Blackened Tilapia!
4 filets of tilapia
2 T olive oil
3 T cumin
2 T garlic powder
1 T ground peppercorn
1 T oregano
1/2 t salt
1 t pepper
2 T lemon juice
1/2 chopped onion
Preheat your broiler. Combine all the spices in a bowl and mix until evenly disbursed. Drizzle and then spread olive oil over both sides of tilapia filets. Cover both sides of tilapia filets in your spice mixture. Top with chopped onion and broil for 6 minutes, until fish is flaky. Squeeze lemon juice over tilapia and serve immediately.
I served this easy tilapia dish with a quinoa-veggie stirfry and a giant salad. The broiler made this tilapia dinner come together so quickly – I barely even had time to set the table before it was ready to come out of the oven!
